The house
The house rules
Privacy, affiliate disclosure and terms of use, merged into one page and written like we mean it — because separate twelve-page documents nobody reads are their own form of rudeness. Last revised 20 September 2026.
Rule the first: we barely know you exist
MicManners is a static website. It has no accounts, no comment forms, no newsletter capture, and sets no cookies of its own. We do not collect names, emails or profiles.
Two honest caveats. First, like effectively every website, the servers and network services that deliver these pages produce standard technical logs (IP address, page requested, time) used for security and load purposes. Second, we see which guides help through visit counts from our CDN, Cloudflare, which are anonymous aggregates and set no cookies; if that ever changes, this page will say so plainly. If you email the desk, we keep your message for as long as the correspondence warrants and use it for nothing else.
Rule the second: how this house is funded
Some links on this site — the noise-suppression buttons for Krisp — are affiliate links. If you click one and later subscribe, MicManners may receive a commission from the vendor. Three commitments keep the arrangement polite:
- You never pay more. Commissions come out of the vendor's margin, not your price.
- Every paid link is marked. Affiliate links appear only in banners with the disclosure printed beside the button, route through
/go/so they are visible in your status bar, and carryrel="sponsored"so machines are told what humans are told. - Money never rewrites judgment. Free tools we recommend — Equalizer APO, Audacity, your own operating system's settings — pay us nothing, are labeled "no affiliate relationship" where linked, and come first in our guides because they should. We recommend no hardware at all, so no manufacturer can pay this desk to move boxes.
Rule the third: what our words are, and are not
Everything here is general technical guidance for consumer audio settings, offered in good faith and verified against vendor documentation where dates are printed. It is not professional engineering advice, and it comes without warranty: settings vary across devices, OS versions and app releases, and you follow the guides at your own reasonable risk — though the worst outcome of our advice is generally a slider you can move back. Prices and plan limits belong to their vendors and change without asking us; the printed verification date on each page tells you when we last looked. Trademarks (Krisp and others) belong to their owners; naming them is reference, not endorsement of us by them.
Rule the fourth: our content, your links
The text and design of MicManners are © 2026 MicManners. Quote fairly with attribution and a link, and we shall consider it a compliment. Wholesale republication, scraping into content farms, or dressing our pages as yours is the discourtesy you would expect it to be. Linking to any page here requires no permission — links are how the web says please and thank you.
Rule the fifth: corrections
If anything on this site has drifted from its source — a price, a limit, a menu path — write to [email protected]. Verified corrections are applied, and the page's verification date updated, without fuss. This page governs the whole site; if we ever need heavier legal machinery, it will appear here first, in the same plain language.
